Kuari Pass is a popular trek near Auli, Joshimath in Uttarakhand. Kuari pass trek is popularly known as "Lord Curzon's trail". The British Viceroy, George Curzon, attempted crossing it and remarked about the beauty of the trek. Though the pass is not very high, it offers excellent views of Nanda Devi, Dunagiri and other Himalayan peaks. The Nanda Devi national park and the Rishi Ganga gorge are visible from the first day itself. Chaukhamba massif, Neelkanth, Mana, Kamet, Hathi Ghoda, Trishul, Nandaghunti, Nanda Devi, Dunagiri, are the peaks visible on the trek.

    Join the group at New Delhi railway station at by 2pm and start your journey towards Haridwar by train. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

    We start very early from Haridwar and reach Joshimath by evening. The 9 hour drive is through the towns of Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, Nandaprayag and Vishnuprayag which happen to be Pancha-Prayags or confluences of rivers, having religious significance. The journey can be long and arduous, but one never runs out from the mesmerizing views of the great mountans enroute. The great river running along-side the road gets more wider and more fascinating as one trudges uphills.

    After an early breakfast, we drive to Joshimath and onwards to Akhroth Getha, towards the road to Tapovan. The trek begins at Karchi Village. The trail goes uphill towards our right away from the road. Over half of the path is open and without shade. We pass two villages on the way. We enter a forest about a kilometer before reaching the campsite of Guling. The camp offers fantastic views of surrounding Dronagiri and other Himalayan Peaks.

    We have an early breakfast and start walking uphill towards the Kuari Pass. We reach a ridge, cross it and take a left. The path leads us away and towards our right to the pass. We spend some time here and then head back along the same way till we reach the ridge again. From here instead of heading down towards Khullara, we walk along the ridge towards Taali. We reach a small hillock with flag, named Chitrakantha. From here we get This spot has stunning panoramic views. We can see the peaks including Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Mana, Hathi, Ghodi and Dunagiri. We walk down the other side and proceed towards our campsite. Taali is located inside the forest and is closed from all sides.

    We have an early breakfast and start walking uphill towards the Kuari Pass. From here we get breathtaking views of the mighty Himalayan Ranges. This spot has stunning panoramic views. We can see the peaks including Chaukhambha, Neelkanth, Mana, Hathi, Ghodi and Dronagiri. We walk down the same side and proceed towards our campsite Khullara for the night halt.

    After a serene time spent in the mountains, we retrace our steps back to Karchi for the night halt

    We leave from Peepalkoti and reach Haridwar by early evening. Overnight stay at Haridwar.

    Today, we leave the holy land of Haridwar and reach New Delhi and proceed for the onward journey home.

    Fees Include

    • Transportation & common accommodation from Delhi to Delhi.
    • Vegetarian meals along the trek route from the Base Camp to Base Camp.
    • Sleeping bag, mattress, tents, kitchen tent, toilet tent, utensils and crampon (if required).
    • Professional outdoor experts, guide, cook and support staff. All necessary entry fees and permits.
    • First aid medical kit. Porters/mules to carry common equipment.

    Fees does not include

    • Clothing of personal nature like trek shoes, kit bags, day packs, down jackets and other special clothing etc.
    • Meals during transit from Delhi to Base Camp and back,
    • Medical expenses (apart from first aid).
    • Insurance.
    • Any kind of shopping, mineral water, optional sightseeing, and any other expenses of personal nature.
    • Personal luggage with mass not exceeding 12 kg per bag per person can be carried by porters/mules @ Rs 300 per day per bag
    • Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
    • Any other item not mentioned in the cost include section.

Important Information

    - All participants are requested to book refundable air tickets.
    - Yuvashakti operates tereks only upon receiving a minimum of ten registrations for a particular trek.
    - In the event of Yuvashakti not receiving sufficient number of participants for particular trek, those who would have registered with us will be given an option of a full refund of the participation fees.
    - Else they can select any other trek on the smae date or should be willing to trek on their own without a leader from Yuvashakti
    - Our local vendors will organize the trek for them which will be handled in a hassle-free manner, the participants must be only prepared to trek with local outdoor experts but without a group leader from Yuvashakti.
