What you will see

Rupin Pass is a high altitude pass across the 
Himalaya mountain range in state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It lies on a traditional shepherd and hiking route which starts from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and ends in Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. The path itself is located across mostly uninhabited areas in the Himalayan ranges at an elevation of 15,250 ft (4,650M) above sea level.

A list of things to be carried

  • Headlamp or Led Torch (with extra batteries)

  • Trekking Pole (optional)

  • Electoral Powder or ORS or Glucon-D

  • Sewing Kit (Thread, Needle, Buttons)

  • Sun glasses (Avoid Blue Shade)

  • Note book & Pen

  • Toiletries (Sunscreen, Cold Cream, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Shampoo, etc.)

  • Personal medical Kit (Pain Killer, Band-aid, antiseptic cream, cotton)

The Fees include

# Transportation & common accommodation from Pune to Pune. # Transportation from Pune to Delhi to Pune is by train in a 3AC Sleeper Class compartment. # Vegetarian meals along the trek route from the Base Camp to Base Camp. #Sleeping bag, mattress, tents, kitchen tent, toilet tent, utensils and crampon (if required). # Professional outdoor experts, guide, cook and support staff.  #All necessary entry fees and permits. # First aid medical kit. #Porters/mules to carry common equipment.

The Fees does not include

• Clothing of personal nature like trek shoes, kit bags, day packs, down jackets and other special clothing etc.
• Meals during transit from Pune to Base Camp and back,
• Medical expenses (apart from first aid).
• Insurance.
• Any kind of shopping, mineral water, optional sightseeings, and any other expenses of personal nature.
• Bag offloading charges.
• Any expenses arising out of unforeseen circumstances like flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike or any other natural calamities or any emergency evacuation expenses.
• Any other item not mentioned in the cost include section.

Kindly Note

The railway reservations begin 120 days prior to the date of departure. Hence, all the participants who wish to join this programme from Pune are requested to confirm their participation immediately to facilitate railway reservations.

Day 1: Pune → New Delhi

Departure to New Delhi, overnight train Journey

Day 2: New Delhi → Shimla

Arrival at New Delhi and proceed to enter the Himalayan Capital of Shimla, overnight bus journey

Day 3: Shimla → Jiksun

Shimla to Jiksun via Rohru.

Drive for almost 190kms  taking approximately 7 to 8 hours.

Day 4: Jiksun → Jakha

Trek Day - Jiksun to Jakha

4 Kms of easy gradient trek taking around 5 hours.

Day 5: Jakha → Saruvas Thatch

Trek Day - Jakha to Saruwas Thatch

Trek 7 kms taking 6 to 7 Hours.

Day 6: Saruvas Thatch → Dhanderas Thatch

Day 8: Upper waterfal → Rupin Pass - Rontigad

Trek Day - Prepare yourself for a long and gruelling, yet exciting day as you trek for almost 11 hours at a stretch. The trail is mostly on snow fields with steep ascents and all you see for miles and miles is a perfectly white hue. The pass is a saddle on a ridge line cutting its way through and across the Dhauladar range. Hundreds of little stone cairns line up the ridge line of the Rupin pass. On your way down from the pass, it is a sharp descent to the snowline and then to the meadows of Ronti Gad. You will reach Ronti Gad camp by evening

Day 9: Rontigad → Sangla

Trek Day - The trail from Ronti gad to Sangla is a steep descent through diverse landscapes every few minutes. You will see spectacular mountain views of the Kinner Kailiash ranges while descending. As you near civilisation, the trail cuts across step farms and fruit orchards. It will take around 6 hours to reach Sangla.

Day 10: Sangla → Shimla

Sangla to Shimla by bus/Jeep.

Journey is meandering through the Himalayan mountains and passing through smaller tiny hamlets. We arrive at Shimla in the evening and rest of the time is leisure to explore the city once again.

We will spend the night at Shimla.

Day 11: Shimla → New Delhi - Pune

After a quick breakfast, we leave the Himalayan Kingdom and descent to New Delhi for our onward journey home.

Arrive at New Delhi Railway station and board the train for Pune

Day 12: New Delhi → Pune

Arrival at Pune and return home with a memorable stay in the mountains.
